Scientific Engineer - Manufacturing Sciences and Technology, Validation (fixed for 3 years))

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Manufacturing Sciences and Validation Engineer for its Drug Product Pilot Plant in Beerse, Belgium. The role involves leading cleaning and sterilization validation activities, supporting regulatory compliance, and driving process optimization across pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. This is a fixed 3-year contract position.

Responsibilities

• Execute cleaning and sterilization validation activities for internal pilot plant equipment
• Serve as process owner and regulatory spokesperson for assigned validation processes
• Support portfolio and technical projects with validation requirements and strategies
• Drive process optimization and implement improvements to validation workflows
• Collaborate across functional teams to ensure right-first-time clinical manufacturing

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering, or related discipline
• Experience in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical development and engineering environments
• Knowledge of FDA standards, GMP guidelines, and Annex 1 regulations
• Strong organizational, coordination, and risk management skills
• Cross-functional collaboration and influencing abilities with internal teams
• Proficiency in English; Dutch language skills preferred
• Ability to work independently under challenging timelines with quality focus
