Internship - Analytical Chemistry

Johnson & Johnson seeks a motivated student intern to join the Discovery Chemistry team in Beerse, Belgium for a 3-9 month internship focused on analytical chemistry and high-throughput purification. The role involves supporting analysis and purification of drug discovery molecules using advanced chromatography and mass spectrometry platforms.
Responsibilities
- Support analysis and purification of small molecules and peptides for drug discovery programs
- Operate advanced HPLC, LC-MS, and automated purification platforms
- Explore innovative approaches to improve resolution in preparative chromatography
- Work independently on analytical problems and propose solutions after initial training
- Contribute to laboratory activities supporting the Discovery Chemistry department
Requirements
- Strong theoretical and practical background in analytical chemistry
- Basic understanding of chromatography fundamentals
- Proficiency with Office 365, SciFinder, and common software packages
- Fast learner with independent and critical thinking skills
- Familiarity with reversed-phase LC-MS preferred
- Experience with chromatography software Masslynx or analytical data software preferred
- Must remain enrolled as a student throughout internship duration
