Senior Functional Consultant - Marketing Cloud Next

We're looking for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys bridging business needs with strong solution design + hands-on Marketing Cloud configuration, and is genuinely excited to be at the front line of Salesforce's shift toward agentic marketing — Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud), Agentforce, and Marketing Cloud Next.

As a Senior Techno-Functional Consultant, you will play a key role in designing and building impactful Marketing Cloud projects — including migrations toward Marketing Cloud Next — coaching junior colleagues, and shaping marketing automation best practices within a people-first, fast-moving consulting environment.

• You prefer staying only at “requirements level” and not getting involved in solution build & configuration.
• You're not comfortable translating business needs into Salesforce features (journeys, data extensions, personalization, agentic automation…).
• You prefer waiting for instructions over taking initiative.
• You're not curious about how AI agents are reshaping marketing — you'd rather stick to what you already know.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

• Strong experience (3+ years) in Salesforce project delivery, with a solid understanding of functional consulting AND declarative build/configuration.
• Strong, hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement is required, ideally complemented by Data 360 exposure. Genuine hands-on project experience with Marketing Cloud Next is a strong differentiator — the platform is very recent, so a fast learning curve and genuine curiosity matter as much as prior hands-on experience with it.
• Proven ability to lead requirement-gathering workshops and translate insights into Marketing Cloud solution designs and scalable engagement architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Marketing Cloud building blocks — Journey Builder, Email/SMS/Mobile Studio, Data Extensions, Contact Builder, Automation Studio — and how they map onto Marketing Cloud Next's unified, Data 360-native model.
• Confident in building declarative solutions: customer journeys and journey decisioning, dynamic content & personalization, preference centers, approval processes, dashboards & reporting.
• Comfortable working with technical teams and architects, understanding when to use configuration vs. custom development (AMPscript/SSJS, APIs) — knowing limits + best practices.
• Skilled in documentation, training, and change management to support long-term adoption, including guiding clients through the move from legacy Marketing Cloud Engagement/Account Engagement to Marketing Cloud Next.
• Analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
• Salesforce certifications (Marketing Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Administrator/Email Specialist, Data 360 Consultant…) are strong assets; an Agentforce credential is a plus.
• Fluent in French and English – Dutch or Portuguese is a plus.
• Knowledge of broader marketing automation, growth strategies, or digital campaigns is a strong asset.

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Functional Consultant at asUgo, your mission will include:

Business Analysis & Advisory

• Lead client workshops, challenge assumptions, and map customer engagement processes end-to-end.
• Translate needs into business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify improvement opportunities and propose scalable, future-proof Marketing Cloud solutions.

Solution Design (Techno-Functional)

• Create functional and solution designs aligned with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Marketing Cloud Next best practices.
• Define the data model (Data 360/Data Extensions), journey/automation approach, personalization strategy, and consent & compliance framework.
• Make clear trade-offs between configuration and development, and coordinate with developers/architects when needed.

Declarative Build & Configuration (Hands-On)

• Build solutions directly in Marketing Cloud using declarative tools:
• Journey Builder / Journey Decisioning Agents
• Email, SMS, WhatsApp and RCS messaging
• Data Extensions, Contact Builder and Data 360 segments
• Dynamic content, personalization and conversational/two-way email
• Agentforce configuration (Campaign Agent, marketing agents)
• Preference centers, consent management, approval processes
• Reports and dashboards
• Configure apps, features, and AppExchange packages to match client needs.

Testing & Quality

• Define test scenarios, execute functional testing, and validate end-to-end journeys.
• Support UAT sessions and ensure the final solution matches user expectations.

Training & Change Enablement

• Create training content, deliver training sessions, and support adoption.
• Ensure documentation supports maintainability and autonomy for client teams — especially useful for teams transitioning to Marketing Cloud Next.

Team Collaboration & Coaching

• Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and PMs, ensuring smooth delivery.
• Mentor and coach junior consultants, providing guidance on analysis and build best practices.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to delivery methodology, reusable assets, templates, accelerators, and best practices.
• Stay ahead of the Salesforce marketing roadmap (Agentforce, Data 360, Marketing Cloud Next) and bring relevant innovations back to the team.
• Share learnings and innovations internally.
