Personnel Security Officer (Clearance Lifecycle, NSA...

If you know what actually happens between a clearance request and a clearance certificate, this is a rare role.
You will support a newly established central personnel security section at a NATO agency in Brussels, working the full lifecycle of personnel security clearances with all 32 member nations.
What you will be doing
- Supporting initiation, renewal, transfer and revocation of personnel security clearances
- Interacting regularly with the National Security Authorities of all 32 member nations
- Supporting the handover of personnel security for the agency's remote locations into the new central section
- Keeping the records and correspondence that make each case auditable
- Briefing the work in English to a varied audience
What you will need
- Demonstrated experience in personnel security under NATO security policy
- Direct experience interacting with member nations' National Security Authorities
- Practical knowledge of initiation, transfer, renewal and revocation of clearances
- Strong written English and the confidence to brief it

- The section is newly established, so you are helping to set how it runs rather than joining a finished process

- Contract engagement, about 516 hours from late September to the end of December 2026
