Senior Tax Analyst

Within our Finance department, we are looking for a pragmatic and action-oriented Senior Tax Analyst, capable of concretely and autonomously managing our tax obligations.

In this role, you are at the heart of operations: you prepare, control, analyze, and improve our tax processes daily. Your work directly contributes to the reliability of our reporting, the company's tax compliance, and the quality of financial decisions.

Your responsibilities

As a Senior Tax Analyst, you manage your tasks autonomously and are responsible for the quality, deadlines, and compliance of your deliverables. You are concretely involved throughout the entire tax cycle, with a key role in the reliability of data and reporting. You are responsible, in particular, for:

• Tax declarations (end-to-end) , you are responsible for the entire tax declaration process, from preparation to submission.
  • You prepare, control, and submit tax declarations (VAT, corporate tax, withholding taxes, specific insurance taxes, tax forms, etc.).
  • You ensure the quality and consistency of the data used.
  • You ensure compliance with deadlines.
• Closings and reporting, you actively participate in closings and contribute to the quality of financial reporting.
  • You calculate and analyze tax positions (BeGAAP, IFRS, Solvency II).
  • You ensure consistency between taxation and accounting.
  • You contribute to the reliability of internal and external reporting.
• Data control and quality, a significant part of your role involves working directly with data to ensure its reliability.
  • You perform quality controls and challenge data at the source.
  • You analyze discrepancies and propose corrections.
  • You ensure reliable, traceable, and auditable information.
• Audits and tax controls, you are a key contact point during audits and interactions with tax authorities.
  • You prepare the necessary analyses and documentation.
  • You respond to requests from auditors (internal and external) and tax authorities.
  • You coordinate exchanges with internal teams.
• Continuous improvement & digitalization, you actively contribute to the concrete improvement of existing processes.
  • You identify opportunities for simplification or automation.
  • You propose and implement improvements.
  • You participate in cross-functional projects.
• Internal tax referent, you are a pragmatic point of contact for operational tax matters.
  • You provide clear, concrete, and directly applicable answers.
  • You collaborate closely with local Finance, Legal, Risk, and HR teams, as well as with the Athora Group Tax department.

Your profile

• You have a master's degree in finance, accounting, taxation, or equivalent experience.
• You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in taxation, accounting, or financial reporting.
• You have a good knowledge of accounting principles (BEeGaap / IFRS).
• You have a good command of French or Dutch, with a good understanding of the other national language, and are able to work in English.
• You are structured, rigorous, and solution-oriented.
• You are able to work autonomously while collaborating with different departments.
• You manage your priorities effectively in an environment with tight deadlines.
• You have an analytical and critical mind.

Some additional elements may make a difference:

• Experience in a regulated environment (insurance, banking, finance).
• Knowledge of Solvency II.
• Proficiency in reporting tools (advanced Excel, Power BI, ...).
