Interim Senior DORA Project Manager

The Assignment

Our client, a Brussels-based bank, is looking for an experienced DORA Project Manager to bring additional structure, maturity and accountability to its Digital Operational Resilience (DORA) programme.

While significant progress has already been made, particularly within the first line of defence, the organisation now needs a senior professional to ensure DORA is fully embedded across Operations, IT, Risk and Business teams. The focus will be on driving ownership, increasing awareness, strengthening governance and ensuring sustainable compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the next phase of the bank's DORA programme.
• Assess current maturity and define a clear implementation roadmap.
• Strengthen governance, reporting and programme management practices.
• Ensure DORA requirements are embedded within operational processes.
• Create awareness and foster accountability across business and support functions.
• Coordinate stakeholders across Operations, IT, Information Security, Risk, Compliance and the business.
• Drive action plans, monitor progress and escalate risks where needed.
• Support senior management with steering committee reporting and regulatory readiness.

Profile

• 8+ years of project/programme management experience within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of DORA and operational resilience requirements.
• Proven experience leading complex regulatory or transformation programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to bridge business, operations, risk and technology functions.
• Pragmatic, hands-on and delivery-focused approach.

The successful consultant will quickly establish a clear roadmap, strengthen governance, clarify ownership across the organisation, and ensure DORA becomes embedded in day-to-day operations rather than remaining a compliance exercise.
