Commercial Development Manager - African Markets

An established international healthcare company is looking for a Regional Commercial Development Manager to strengthen and expand its activities across African markets. This position focuses on identifying new opportunities, developing distributor networks and building sustainable commercial partnerships throughout the region.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new commercial opportunities across Sub-Saharan Africa
- Expand and manage a network of distributors and business partners
- Evaluate potential markets, customers and local partnership opportunities
- Manage the complete commercial cycle, from market analysis and prospecting to negotiation and closing
- Develop regional business plans and market-entry strategies
- Support distributors with commercial development and performance improvement
- Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing and contractual conditions
- Build long-term relationships with customers, partners and relevant stakeholders
- Represent the company at international congresses, trade fairs and commercial meetings
- Monitor competitors, market developments and regional opportunities
- Travel regularly throughout the assigned African markets
Profile
- At least four years of commercial, sales or business-development experience
- Demonstrated professional experience with Sub-Saharan African markets
- Fluent professional English and French
- Experience may come from any industry; healthcare or medical-device experience is advantageous but not essential
- Strong hunter mentality and proven new-business-development capabilities
- Experience working with distributors, agents or international business partners
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Strong cultural awareness and the ability to operate effectively across different African markets
- Independent, proactive, professional and results-oriented
- Willing and able to travel frequently across Africa
