Full-Stack Java Developer (Freelance possible)

Tasks and responsibilities

Within a large-scale business transformation programme, we are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Java Developer to strengthen existing teams.

You will join a department of around 70 people and contribute to the handover, refactoring and greenfield development of business applications. In this role, you support analysts and business objectives while covering the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design through testing and deployment.

️ Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain business applications in Java.
• Build application components and web services.
• Contribute to the design of architectural components and technical building blocks in collaboration with the technical lead and software architects.
• Take part in technical working groups, Scrum ceremonies and, when needed, meetings with end users.
• Support testing, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting.
• Work in complex, integrated environments and quickly understand existing code bases.
• Help guide junior team members and integrate smoothly into an established team.

Your profile

• You have at least 5-7 years of full-time professional experience in Java development, ideally in a full-stack role.
• You have experience in project teams delivering greenfield applications from scratch.
• You are familiar with multi-system integration and complex technical landscapes.
• You have strong practical knowledge of Java and the Spring Framework.
• You have experience with JPA and Hibernate.
• You are comfortable with security patterns, including Spring Security.
• You have hands-on experience with SOAP and RESTful web services.
• You have worked with Spring Batch, SOA, microservices and CQRS.
• You apply test-driven development and continuous integration practices, using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Cypress and Selenium.
• You combine front-end knowledge in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Angular with solid back-end development skills.
• You are familiar with Maven, Jenkins, Docker, OpenShift, SVN or Git, Eclipse or IntelliJ, Sonar, JBoss and Tomcat.
• You have experience with relational databases and O/R mapping, including PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
• You can read and understand BPMN, UML and technical documentation standards.
• You work comfortably with Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge of Talend, ZK, Oracle or Kafka is a plus.
• You are familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• You are solution-oriented, customer-oriented and strong in problem solving.
• You have an active knowledge of French or Dutch, both spoken and written, including technical documentation.
• You communicate effectively in English, especially in writing and within the team.
