Purchasing Manager – VSS Luxembourg The Purchasing Manager defines and leads the site's purchasing strategy to ensure the availability of products and services under the best conditions of cost, quality, delivery, safety and environmental compliance. He/She contributes to the company's economic performance by optimizing procurement activities, managing supplier-related risks, and securing the supply chain. The Purchasing Manager also supports the achievement of Vossloh Group strategic objectives through close collaboration with Group Purchasing, Commodity Managers and the various Business Units. Mission : Define, implement and drive the site purchasing strategy in alignment with company and Group objectives. Ensure the timely availability of raw materials, components, services and consumables while meeting Quality, Cost and Delivery targets. Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers to secure the best economic and operational conditions. Identify, assess and mitigate supplier-related risks to ensure supply chain continuity and business resilience. Monitor market trends, technological developments, pricing evolution and sourcing opportunities through continuous market intelligence. Manage supplier claims and coordinate corrective actions with the relevant internal stakeholders. Measure and analyze purchasing performance through appropriate KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Prepare and present purchasing reports, monitor key performance indicators, and provide management with regular updates on results, risks and action plans. Develop and maintain a high-performing, competitive and compliant supplier base that meets quality, safety and environmental requirements. Contribute to strategic projects, cost optimization initiatives and new product developments in collaboration with Business Units and the Group Purchasing organization. Coordinate and align all stakeholders involved in the purchasing process to ensure efficient collaboration and achievement of business objectives. Support, advise and guide team members and cross-functional colleagues in resolving operational and strategic procurement issues. Ensure effective onboarding, integration and training of new employees, temporary workers and interns within the department. Actively participate in and contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at improving business performance, processes and operational efficiency. Contribute to the reduction of supplier non-conformities by implementing corrective and preventive actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Take appropriate corrective and preventive measures in case of emergencies, supply disruptions or operational issues affecting procurement activities. Promote and enforce health, safety and environmental regulations and best practices within purchasing activities and supplier management processes. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, safety, environmental performance and supply chain sustainability Personal Skills : Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams. Education : Industrial Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Alternatively, 5 to 10 years of significant experience in Purchasing Management within an industrial environment. Fluent in English, German is an asset Experience : Proven experience in industrial procurement, strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management. Demonstrated experience in leading negotiations and managing supplier contracts in an international manufacturing environment.
