Automation Engineer

Your responsibilities:

As an Automation Engineer, you will be embedded within the engineering teams of our pharmaceutical and industrial clients in Belgium, contributing to automation projects across the full lifecycle, from design and development through to commissioning, validation and handover to operations.

• Coordinate and oversee automation projects, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline and quality standards

• Program and configure industrial control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA). Siemens is mandatory; DeltaV, Rockwell, ABB, Schneider or OSIsoft PI are a plus

• Participate in the design, development and maintenance of automated control systems

• Support the commissioning and start-up of new installations, including SAT and handover activities

• Review and contribute to verification and qualification protocols in a GMP environment

• Manage and coordinate on-site teams and subcontractors during project execution

• Proactively identify, signal and manage technical and project risks

• Organise and deliver operator training on new automated systems

• Ensure all automation activities comply with GMP/cGMP requirements and applicable regulatory standards

Your profile:

• Master’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Computer Science, Automation or equivalent)

• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial automation

• Hands-on experience with Siemens (TIA Portal, S7) is mandatory

• Knowledge of DeltaV, Rockwell, ABB, Schneider or OSIsoft PI is a strong plus

• Experience in GMP or cGMP environments (pharmaceutical, biotech xlxgzvr or related regulated industry)

• Previous involvement in large-scale engineering projects, including risk management and obsolescence planning

• Strong communication skills, comfortable leading teams, managing subcontractors and engaging with senior stakeholders

• Able to make decisions under pressure and take ownership in a fast-paced environment

• Fluent in English and French
