Overview Our client is a highly sophisticated, impact-driven investment manager and developer dedicated to shaping the core physical assets of tomorrow. Unlike traditional highly-leveraged buyout (LBO) platforms that rely on financial engineering, this firm deploys long-term, patient capital with a dual mandate: delivering sustainable yield to institutional LPs and driving measurable societal and environmental impact.

The fund targets complex, high-conviction investments across four core verticals: Energy Transition Infrastructure (renewables, storage, grid modernization), Digital Infrastructure (fiber, data centers), Public Infrastructure (PPPs, transport), and selective, supportive Real Estate. Crucially, the firm operates not merely as a passive allocator, but as a hands-on developer and operator, actively navigating greenfield development risks, regulatory frameworks, and complex public-private partnerships.

To support an accelerating deployment phase and a robust pipeline of proprietary projects, the firm is seeking to appoint a rigorous Senior Analyst or Junior Associate to its Antwerp headquarters. The successful candidate will be exposed to the entire asset lifecycle, from early-stage greenfield development and complex project finance structuring to brownfield asset management and eventual realization.

Key Responsibilities

• Complex Project Finance Modeling: Construct, iterate, and take full ownership of highly intricate, long-term project finance models. This includes structuring complex debt tranches, sculpting debt service profiles (DSCR/LLCR mechanics), managing circularities, and running extreme downside sensitivity analyses on long-term contracted cash flows.
• Deal Origination & Evaluation: Support senior dealmakers in screening primary development opportunities and secondary brownfield acquisitions. Analyze complex regulatory frameworks, concession agreements, and public procurement/tender documentation.
• Development & Structuring Support: Assist in the highly technical underwriting of greenfield projects. Analyze and help structure Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts, and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) frameworks.
• Holistic Due Diligence: Coordinate comprehensive, multi-disciplinary diligence processes. Manage elite external advisors—including technical engineers, regulatory counsel, and ESG consultants—to translate technical project risks into financial model inputs.
• Impact & ESG Underwriting: Integrate rigorous ESG metrics and impact KPIs directly into the investment thesis, ensuring all capital deployment aligns with the fund’s strict sustainability and energy transition mandates.
• Active Asset Management: Monitor the performance of operational, yield-generating assets. Support the management teams of portfolio companies (HoldCos/OpCos) in strategic refinancing, bolt-on acquisitions, and operational optimization.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: 2 to 4 years of rigorous, quantitative experience. Candidates must originate from a top-tier Investment Bank (specifically Infrastructure M&A, Project Finance, or Power & Utilities coverage), an elite Big 4 Infrastructure Advisory / Project Finance team, or a comparable Infrastructure/Energy Transition Private Equity fund.
• Technical Elite: Absolute mastery of complex, long-duration cash flow modeling. The candidate must possess a flawless understanding of project finance mechanics, tax equity structures, and infrastructure valuation methodologies. An absolute zero-defect mentality is mandatory.
• Sector Affinity: A demonstrable, authentic intellectual curiosity regarding energy transition, digital infrastructure, and sustainable asset development. Must possess the commercial maturity to understand the nuance of development risk versus traditional corporate M&A.
• Temperament & DNA: A highly resilient, patient, and detail-oriented professional. Infrastructure deal cycles are notoriously long and complex; the candidate must thrive in an environment that rewards meticulous technical underwriting and long-term strategic vision over short-term financial engineering.
