🚀 Project Manager - Finance Transformation | Belgium | Hybrid | Freelance / Contract

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in Finance and IT transformation? Do you enjoy navigating complex environments, aligning senior stakeholders, and turning ambitious transformation plans into successful deliveries? Then this could be your next challenge.

We are looking for a Project Manager – Finance Portfolio to lead a diverse range of strategic projects, covering finance transformation, business process optimization, ERP implementations, regulatory initiatives, reporting and digitalization.

You’ll operate at the intersection of Finance, Business and IT , working with senior leadership, business stakeholders, solution architects, delivery teams and external partners to drive projects from initiation through deployment, go-live and business adoption.

Your Mission

You will take ownership of multiple projects within a Finance portfolio, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and scope, and to the expected quality standards .

Beyond traditional project management, you will play a key role in business readiness, testing, cutover, deployment and go-live governance for major transformation initiatives.

Your responsibilities

Project Delivery & Governance

• Lead multiple Finance-related projects from initiation to successful delivery
• Manage project plans, budgets, resources, RAID logs and governance documentation
• Ensure adherence to PMO standards, methodologies and stage-gate processes
• Provide clear reporting and executive updates to sponsors and steering committees
• Monitor scope, timeline, budget, dependencies and delivery quality

Stakeholder & Team Management

• Build strong relationships with Finance leaders and business stakeholders
• Facilitate decision-making and drive alignment across departments
• Act as the escalation point for project risks, issues and dependencies
• Coordinate business teams, IT teams, system integrators and external suppliers
• Manage competing priorities in a complex, international environment

Finance Transformation

Lead initiatives focused on Finance process optimization and transformation, including:

• Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
• Order-to-Cash (O2C)
• Record-to-Report (R2R)
• Treasury & Cash Management
• Financial Planning & Analysis
• Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Master Data & Process Governance
• ERP and digital transformation

Testing, Cutover & Go-Live

• Lead test management and business readiness activities
• Develop and govern cutover and deployment plans
• Coordinate training, communications and operational readiness
• Drive go/no-go decision processes and readiness reviews
• Manage deployment risks, fallback strategies and hypercare
• Ensure a smooth transition into business-as-usual operations

Continuous Improvement

• Capture lessons learned and share best practices across the Finance portfolio
• Identify opportunities to improve project delivery and governance
• Contribute to the evolution of project management and portfolio processes

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in project management within complex business and IT environments
• Proven experience delivering Finance-related projects and transformation programmes
• Strong understanding of Finance processes and business operations
• Experience working with SAP ERP , ideally within SAP S/4HANA programmes
• Experience managing international, cross-functional teams
• Proven experience managing vendors, suppliers and system integrators
• Demonstrated ability to manage several projects simultaneously
• Hands-on experience with cutover, deployment and go-live activities
• Experience operating within large-scale transformation programmes
