Director, Worldwide Tax

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Worldwide Tax based in Belgium. This senior leadership role will oversee a global tax function within a growing, acquisition-oriented technology organization. You will shape worldwide tax strategy across U. S. and international taxation, transfer pricing, indirect taxes, tax accounting, and compliance. The role provides direct exposure to senior finance leadership and requires close partnership with Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Corporate Development, and international teams. You will lead complex tax planning, cross-border structuring, M&A due diligence, and integration activities across multiple jurisdictions. The position also carries responsibility for developing a team and managing relationships with major external tax advisors. A key focus will be modernizing tax operations through AI, automation, analytics, and improved data capabilities. Accountabilities - Lead the worldwide tax function, covering U. S. federal, state and local, international, transfer pricing, and indirect tax matters. - Develop and execute global tax strategies addressing cash taxes, effective tax rate, tax risk, compliance, and business objectives. - Serve as a senior tax advisor to the CFO and finance leadership on strategic decisions, transactions, and material tax matters. - Monitor global tax developments and assess their implications for businesses, legal entities, cash flows, and financial statements. - Partner closely with Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Corporate Development, and international finance teams. - Lead, develop, and mentor the internal tax team while managing relationships with external tax advisors worldwide. - Direct international tax planning and compliance, including legal entity structuring, restructuring, entity rationalization, and cross-border tax matters. - Oversee U. S.

international tax requirements, including foreign tax credits, E&P, GILTI, FDII, and related provisions. - Manage worldwide transfer pricing strategy, documentation, intercompany arrangements, and compliance. - Lead tax activities associated with acquisitions and strategic transactions, including tax due diligence, transaction structuring, modeling, risk assessment, and integration. - Oversee global income tax provision and tax accounting under U. S. GAAP, along with federal, state, local, and international income tax compliance. - Manage cash-tax forecasting and global indirect tax matters, including sales and use tax and VAT/GST. - Lead U. S. federal and state tax audits and oversee international tax audits, inquiries, and related risk-management activities. - Research complex tax issues, document conclusions, and communicate clear recommendations and business implications to senior management. - Maintain effective tax policies, documentation, processes, and internal controls. - Build a scalable, technology-enabled tax function by identifying opportunities to apply AI, automation, analytics, and improved data processes to tax research, compliance, forecasting, reconciliations, reporting, and planning. - Continuously evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve the efficiency and quality of tax operations. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. - CPA strongly preferred; an MST or other relevant advanced degree is an advantage. - 8+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant U. S. corporate and international tax experience. - Strong technical knowledge of U. S. federal and international taxation, including GILTI, FDII, foreign tax credits, E&P, and related reporting requirements.
