Senior Manager Local Study Operations

This senior manager role leads local study operations teams within a country portfolio, overseeing trial implementation, budget management, and LSOM performance. Responsibilities include mentoring study managers, monitoring portfolio progress, managing risk and quality, and driving operational improvements across the clinical research environment. Candidates need clinical execution experience combined with 2+ years of people management or team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead skill development and mentoring of Local Study Operations Managers
- Oversee delivery of country study portfolio including scope, timelines, and budgets
- Monitor portfolio progress, manage risks and quality, escalate and resolve issues
- Manage LSOM and vendor performance as primary escalation point for local study challenges
- Drive operational efficiency initiatives and promote best practice sharing across teams
Requirements
- Doctorate plus 2 years clinical execution experience, or Master's plus 6 years, or Bachelor's plus 8 years, or Associate's plus 10 years, or High school diploma plus 12 years
- Minimum 2 years directly managing people or leading teams and projects
- 7 years life sciences or medical field experience with 4 years biopharmaceutical clinical research
- Experience managing multiple teams across clinical functions and trials
- Experience overseeing clinical research vendors including CROs and central labs
- Experience managing clinical operations across relevant geography with local regulatory knowledge
