Finance Lead (Head of Financial Operations - Full Mandate)

As Finance Lead , you will architect and own MegaCool's financial engine.

You will have a full mandate across our European headquarters and US operations , combining strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational execution. This is not a role where you simply oversee an existing finance function—you will build and shape it.

You will work directly with the founders as a strategic partner, particularly throughout upcoming  VC fundraising rounds , building investor-ready financial models, data rooms, reporting structures, and funding strategies that support the company's international expansion.

As MegaCool grows, this role has a clear path toward a  broader executive finance mandate .

Key Responsibilities

• Build and own the finance function: Design and implement a modern, scalable, and highly automated finance infrastructure across our US and European entities.
• Own financial operations end-to-end: Maintain oversight of transaction processing, accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, payments, cash management, and working capital across all operating entities.
• Partner with the founders on fundraising: Build and maintain institutional-quality financial models and investor data rooms, support due diligence, and evaluate both equity and non-dilutive financing opportunities.
• Lead financial reporting: Manage financial reporting for subsidized projects and coordinate applications for new public funding and grant opportunities.
• Own cash flow and treasury: Develop multi-currency cash flow forecasts, manage liquidity and treasury activities, and provide clear visibility into the company's financial position.
• Drive efficient month-end closing: Coordinate with international accountants and tax advisors to ensure accurate, timely, and frictionless monthly and annual closings.

What You Bring

The Essentials

• Proven experience  building or transforming finance functions within high-growth, venture-backed startups . You thrive in environments where speed and ownership matter more than legacy processes.
• Strong expertise in  financial modeling, unit economics, cash flow management, and fundraising support , including preparation and management of investor data rooms.
• A hands-on approach to finance. You understand that strong financial control starts with knowing the details—from payment flows and invoices to cash movements and working capital.
• Solid experience managing  multi-entity, international operations , ideally across the US and Europe.
• Experience selecting and implementing  modern, lean financial systems and tools , with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• The ability to operate at both levels:  strategic enough to advise founders and hands-on enough to build the processes yourself.

The Extra Mile

• Experience in  deep-tech, hardware, manufacturing, industrial technology, or other capital-intensive business models .
• Familiarity with  US and European tax, accounting, and corporate structures .
• Experience with  government grants, subsidies, R&D funding, or other non-dilutive financing mechanisms .
