Takeda Belgium’s roots go back to 1835, with the creation of Christaens NV, which became Nycomed after a merger, with Sanders Probel. In 2007, Nycomed accquiered Altana Pharma, a large German pharmaceutical company, and gained considerable strength on the Belgian market. In 2011, the company became part of the Takeda group and was renamed Takeda Belgium.
