Daikin Europe is hiring a Senior Embedded System Architect in Ghent.
As a Senior Embedded System Architect you will define, own and guard the technical architecture of embedded solutions used across our product portfolio. You combine deep technical knowledge with a strong understanding of business, quality and product requirements, and use this to steer development teams and external partners in the right direction.
Together with the project teams you strive for the best balance between system performance, quality, cost, risk and timely delivery of robust embedded solutions.

The Team
Within our Equipment Controls team, engineers work in their field of expertise (embedded hardware, software and system architecture). The team is responsible for delivering complete embedded solutions, starting from market and product requirements, over system architecture and design, up to industrialisation, validation and maintenance in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Job Content
As a Senior Embedded System Architect, you are the technical authority for the embedded systems under your responsibility. Defining and maintaining the overall embedded system architecture , covering hardware, software, interfaces and connectivity.
Translating business, product, quality and regulatory requirements into clear architectural concepts and system specifications .
Making and documenting architectural trade-offs with regard to performance, cost, reliability, safety, cybersecurity and maintainability.
Providing technical guidance to internal development teams and steering external development partners to ensure alignment with the defined architecture.
Reviewing system designs, technical proposals and implementation choices from suppliers and internal teams.
Supporting projects by analysing complex system issues, proposing robust solutions and ensuring correct prioritisation and implementation.
Acting as a technical mentor for junior engineers and architects, contributing to the growth of architectural competence within the team.

You hold a Master’s degree in Electronics, Embedded Systems, ICT or a related field .
You have extensive experience with embedded systems , covering both hardware and software aspects.
You have proven experience in system-level or software architecture roles for embedded products.
