EMEA Marketing Director – Hospitals

About the opportunity

For an established international healthcare organisation, we are looking for an experienced EMEA Marketing Director to lead the regional marketing strategy across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

This is a senior leadership position combining strategic marketing, portfolio management, commercial excellence and marketing communications. You will work closely with regional sales leadership, distributors, clinical stakeholders and global marketing teams while managing an experienced marketing team.

A key requirement for this position is strong experience within the healthcare and hospital environment. We are specifically looking for someone who understands how products and solutions are positioned, launched and commercialised within hospitals and who is comfortable interacting with clinical and non-clinical hospital stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

• Define and execute the EMEA marketing strategy across multiple healthcare product categories and market segments.
• Translate regional commercial and sales objectives into effective marketing strategies and initiatives.
• Drive portfolio strategy, including product positioning, segmentation, pricing, new product launches and product lifecycle management.
• Identify opportunities to accelerate growth in strategic and high-margin product categories.
• Work closely with sales teams, distributors and clinical and non-clinical hospital stakeholders to understand customer needs, market developments and competitive dynamics.
• Develop value propositions and go-to-market strategies adapted to different European and international markets.
• Develop and implement the regional clinical education strategy.
• Lead integrated marketing communication programs supporting commercial growth and brand positioning.
• Drive digital marketing initiatives including CRM, demand generation, SEO/SEA, e-commerce and digital customer journeys.
• Oversee major European trade shows, congresses, conferences and customer events.
• Manage marketing budgets and continuously evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of marketing activities.
• Partner closely with Sales, Product Management, Sales Operations and international/global Marketing teams.
• Lead and develop a team of Marketing Managers and Marketing Communications professionals.
• Contribute to the broader EMEA leadership strategy and strategic cross-functional projects.

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management or a related discipline..
• Minimum 10 years of relevant business experience.
• At least 5 years of broad marketing and/or marketing communications experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience within healthcare.
• Strong and demonstrable experience with the hospital market is essential.
• Solid understanding of the hospital environment, its stakeholders and the commercial dynamics involved in bringing healthcare products or solutions to market.
• Experience within medical devices, medical consumables, hospital products or another directly relevant healthcare environment is highly valuable.
• Proven experience in product and portfolio management, including product launches and lifecycle management.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to connect marketing strategy directly with revenue and business growth.
• Experience operating within an international, multicultural and matrix organisation.
• Comfortable working with senior commercial and marketing leadership.
• Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable remaining hands-on and operational.
• Strong project management, communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• Fluent English combined with at least one additional European language, preferably Dutch, French or German.
• Experience with CRM and digital marketing platforms such as Salesforce, Marketo, HubSpot, Showpad or comparable tools is an advantage.
