We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer with strong Microsoft Fabric expertise to join a dynamic Data Platform team. You will contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous evolution of a modern cloud-based data platform, supporting both new initiatives and existing production environments. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale Azure and Microsoft Fabric solutions, helping design and optimize enterprise-grade data architectures. Responsibilities As a Data Engineer, you will: - Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory and Azure Data Factory.
- Build and optimize data transformation processes using Fabric Notebooks and PySpark.
- Improve query performance while optimizing Azure resource consumption and cloud costs.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of an enterprise Lakehouse architecture.
- Design and implement Medallion Architecture (Silver and Gold layers) within Microsoft Fabric.
- Develop, execute, and automate unit testing strategies where appropriate.
- Participate in technical analysis and effort estimation during project planning.
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
- Contribute to development standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support production environments and participate in incident resolution and maintenance activities. Required Experience - Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Developer.
- At least 3 years of experience working with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Spark/PySpark.
- Demonstrated experience within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- At least 6 months of practical experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience working with Git and CI/CD practices. Technical Skills - Strong proficiency in Python.
- Strong SQL and T-SQL skills.
- Solid understanding of Lakehouse concepts.
- Experience with dimensional data modelling.
- Knowledge of open table formats such as Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Microsoft Fabric Data Factory and/or Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with Synapse Spark, Microsoft Fabric, or Databricks.
- Knowledge of Azure Storage Accounts and OneLake.
- Understanding of secure software development practices.
- English proficiency (B1 or higher).
- Microsoft DP-700 – Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification is a plus. Nice-to-Have Skills - Experience with SAP BusinessObjects / SAP Data Services.
- Experience with Power BI and DAX.
- Basic knowledge of UML Class Diagrams. Languages - French: Native or C2 level (mandatory).
- Comfortable working in a French-speaking environment.
- English is considered an asset. Ideal Candidate You are a hands-on Azure Data Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, PySpark, and modern cloud data platforms. You have experience designing scalable Lakehouse solutions, building robust data pipelines, and continuously improving data platforms while following engineering best practices. xlxgzvr You enjoy working in collaborative Agile environments and take ownership of both development and operational excellence.
