CAR-T Production Supervisor

The hiring company is a rapidly expanding biotech manufacturing site in Gent, Belgium specialising in next-generation cell therapies for oncology and other serious diseases. They specialise in the GMP-compliant production of personalised CAR-T treatments for patients worldwide.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to step into a people leadership and operational coordination role within a cutting-edge biotech production environment.

As Production Supervisor, you will focus on team leadership, planning, and cross-functional coordination , rather than hands-on cleanroom work.

If you bring 4+ years of experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment and are looking to grow into a supervisory role, this could be a strong next step.

Responsibilities

• Act as SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for operational issues
• Lead and supervise teams throughout the CAR-T production process
• Ensure compliance with GMP/cGMP standards and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate cross-functional activities and support troubleshooting
• Oversee and review documentation (procedures, batch records, logs, etc.)
• Support batch record review and release readiness
• Manage team planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (efficiency, quality, cost)
• Coach, develop, and support team members
• Support hiring and team expansion efforts

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific field (bio-engineering, pharmacy, life sciences), or equivalent experience

Experience:

Experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment (pharma, biotech, medical devices)

Prior people leadership experience OR clear evidence for readiness to step into a supervisory role

Required Skills

• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to motivate and guide an intercultural team
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Good understanding of GMP and cleanroom operations
• Comfortable with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Detail-oriented and process-driven
• Able to prioritise, multitask, and solve problems effectively in a calm and structured manner
