Unreal Engine Level Designer - Studentenjob

Supercube is a start-up developing augmented reality games played on board a go-kart.

Our karts drive around real venues, onto which virtual worlds are projected. Each time a new venue opens, these worlds have to be created or adapted to the venue’s physical space. Your role will be to work in Unreal Engine 4.27 to build and adapt these worlds, following our guidelines.

In practice, you will mainly work on the following tasks:

• Creating new worlds: you build new worlds for our games by placing and arranging assets according to our guidelines.
• Adapting worlds to each venue: you take our existing worlds and rework them so they fit the real space of each new venue as closely as possible (dimensions, walls, obstacles, etc.).
• Rebuilding background scenery: you rebuild a scene’s background by moving and resizing assets, based on the backgrounds of other worlds, to fit the new venue.

We will help you get up to speed with our tools, our guidelines and our existing worlds. Above all, we’re looking for someone creative, rigorous and autonomous.

The work is occasional and depends on new venue openings. Hours are flexible, so the job is easy to combine with your studies.

Have you already worked with Unreal Engine and enjoy building 3D environments? Then you’ll love this job!

The ideal candidate:

• Has some prior experience with Unreal Engine.
• Knows how to add assets to a world, then position, rotate and scale them.
• Knows how to edit actor properties when placing them in the world.
• Can follow a guideline precisely and reproduce the style of existing worlds.
• Has a good sense of space and an eye for detail, to adapt each world to the real constraints of a venue.
• Has flexible availability, as the work is scheduled around new venue openings.

A background or studies in a related field (video games, 3D, computer graphics, computer science, etc.) is a plus, but motivation, resourcefulness and a willingness to learn matter just as much.
