The Data Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer with strong Python expertise and hands-on experience with modern AI-assisted software development tools to help design and build libraries, frameworks, services, and AI-enabled developer capabilities for working with big data on AWS.
The team delivers the core building blocks used to develop data pipelines on the Edison big data platform. This multi-tenant AWS platform is a key enabler of the client's digital acceleration and AI initiatives, supporting deployments across five countries, with Belgium operating the largest environment.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience (medior to senior level preferred).
- Strong Python programming skills with solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Strong technical analysis, architecture, and design skills.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI coding assistants.
- Experience designing AI agents, developer tooling, plugins, prompt engineering, or AI-enabled software development workflows is highly desirable.
- Experience building scalable software for cloud environments.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for delivering high-quality software and reliable releases.
- Ability to balance tactical delivery with long-term architectural vision.
- Strong ownership mindset and decision-making ability.
- Experience mentoring and collaborating across multiple engineering teams.
