About the role

As a member of the Utility/Facility team, the Utility/Facility Engineer is responsible for the coordination, operation, and administration of utility and facility services for our plant in Turnhout. You will support the team in executing day-to-day operations, including planning, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and equipment to ensure the smooth running of the office and a safe workplace for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

This position is based on-site in Turnhout.

• Perform routine utility and facilities services for the entire plant office.

• Organize and oversee repair and maintenance works to keep all building assets and utilities in safe and proper condition, including mechanical, electrical, pumping (MEP), automation, air conditioners, and fire & security systems.

• Monitor the progress and quality of work performed by in-house staff and contractors, report defects or irregularities, and collaborate closely with external contractors on a regular basis.

• Perform utility/facility and equipment performance assessments, providing recommendations for repairs or replacements and managing parts inventory control in cost-effective ways.

• Manage the safety of any onsite engineering works, conduct all periodical checking and testing, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and support the planning, budgeting, and scheduling of maintenance and modifications.

Qualifications

Required:

• 3+ years of experience as an Engineer in a utility/facility environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.

• Strong problem solving, decision analysis, and situation appraisal skills.

• Ability to influence others, work across functions, and take decisions autonomously while remaining a proactive, accurate, and collaborative team player.

• Approachable demeanor with strong presentation and facilitation skills, and effectiveness in giving and receiving feedback.
