Senior Data Engineer / Data Engineer (Microsoft BI & Azure Databricks)

Contract: Long-term Contract Opportunity
Employment Type: Full-Time
Languages: Dutch or French (knowledge of the second national language is a plus)
About the Role
We are looking for experienced Data Engineers and Senior Data Engineers to join a large-scale data transformation initiative. You will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of modern data platforms, data warehouses, analytics solutions, and cloud-based data services.
This role combines Microsoft BI technologies, Azure Databricks, Python, SQL Server, Data Warehousing, Data Quality, Data Integration, and REST API development within an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms and analytical solutions.
- Build and optimize Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Data Hubs.
- Develop and support ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration processes.
- Work with Azure Databricks to process and transform large datasets.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and data connector services.
- Implement data quality and validation controls.
- Support Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives.
- Create and maintain Power BI and reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with Data Architects, Analysts, Product Owners, and Business Stakeholders.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and documentation. xlxgzvr
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
5+ years (Data Engineer) / 7+ years (Senior Data Engineer) experience in Data Engineering
Strong experience with:
- SQL Server
- SSIS
- SSMS
- Power BI
- Data Warehousing
- Kimball Dimensional Modeling
- ETL / Data Integration
Good experience with:
- Azure Databricks
- Python
- REST APIs
- Data Modeling
Knowledge of:
- Data Quality & Validation
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- CI/CD and Agile Delivery
- Azure Data Platform concepts
Nice to Have
- SSAS
- SSRS
- Azure Data Factory
- Healthcare, Public Sector, or Enterprise Data Platform experience
- DevOps practices
- Databricks certifications
