Freelance Solution Designer – .NET / C# / Azure Architecture

For one of our clients in the Brussels region, we are looking for an experienced Freelance Solution Designer with a strong technical background in .NET, C# and Azure .

Start: September 2026

End: August 2028

Location: Brussels area

Remote: 50% remote / 50% onsite

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Solution Designer who can translate business requirements into solid technical solutions.

You will analyze functional needs, understand existing applications and define the right technical approach. You will work closely with developers and technical teams to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with the overall architecture.

This role requires someone who combines software development knowledge, architecture skills and strong communication abilities .

Technical background

You have a strong background in software engineering and solution design, with experience in:

• .NET / C# development
• Microsoft Azure cloud services
• Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Azure Service Bus and API Management
• REST APIs and application integrations
• Event-driven architectures and messaging solutions
• Distributed systems and enterprise applications
• Software architecture and technical solution design
• Database design and data flows
• Front-end technologies such as React or Blazor (plus)
• Mobile applications and synchronization concepts (plus)

A previous experience as a Software Developer, Technical Lead, Software Architect or Technical Analyst is highly appreciated.

Your responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Define solution architecture and technical components.
• Analyze impact on existing systems and integrations.
• Make technical design decisions and document them clearly.
• Support developers during implementation.
• Review technical solutions and propose improvements.
• Create architecture documentation, API specifications and technical flows.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, testers, architects and business teams.

Profile requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Solution Designer, Application Architect, Software Architect, Technical Lead or similar role.
• Proven experience designing software solutions.
• Experience with APIs, integrations, cloud platforms and distributed systems.
• Experience working with development teams in a software delivery environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of solutions.
• Fluent in Dutch or French (minimum C2 level).
• Fluent in English (minimum C1 level).
• Available for at least 2 days onsite in Brussels .
