Job Title: Kafka Application Architect / Kafka Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Kafka Application Architect / Kafka Consultant to assess, optimize, and operationalize an existing Apache Kafka platform. You will improve infrastructure, establish governance and operational procedures, enhance monitoring, and ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the platform. You will also provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to the internal team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and optimize Kafka-based event-driven architectures and data pipelines.
• Configure and manage Kafka topics, partitions, retention policies, and Kafka Connect.
• Improve platform monitoring using Grafana and implement troubleshooting procedures.
• Secure Kafka communications using TLS, SASL, and ACLs.
• Optimize Kafka clusters, support production issues, and document governance and operational processes.
• Mentor technical teams and share Kafka best practices.

Required Skills:

• Expert knowledge of Apache Kafka (Broker, KRaft, Schema Registry, Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect).
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
• Knowledge of containerized Kafka platforms (e.g., Strimzi, Confluent).
• Experience with Grafana and Ansible.
• Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Spark, Flink, or Iceberg is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
