Data Governance Expert

The Job

As an experienced Data Governance Expert with a deep understanding of data governance concepts and their practical implementation in data governance tools., you will work closely on a daily basis with our clients to establish and maintain effective data governance processes and policies. You will assist in the implementation of data governance tools and platforms. Next to this, you are passionate about the topic and eager to support colleagues implementing modern data platforms and AI solutions also to ensure proper governance by design. In other words, we are a scale-up, you should expect a healthy dose of entrepreneurial opportunities, identifying opportunities and shaping new offerings as we grow.

What will you be doing?

• Advise clients on data governance best practices and trends in the industry
• Design and implement data governance frameworks, including data classification, metadata management, and data lineage
• Support the development and implementation of data governance tools and platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data governance requirements are incorporated into data solutions, ranging from Data Platforms to AI solutions
• Help shape and refine our data & AI governance offering

The Skills

• You have a minimum of 4 years of experience in data governance, through which you acquired deep and experience-based knowledge of data governance frameworks, processes, and best practices
• You have practical experience translating the above to data governance tools and platforms
• You are able to work with clients at all levels of the organization
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• You have an entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and business growth
• You combine technical affinity with excellent soft skills to drive change
• You have a solid knowledge of GDPR and similar other data regulations (Basel III, Solvency II, HIPAA, etc)
• You have experience working in a service/consulting organization
• You speak fluent English and either Dutch or French.

Our main offices are in Leuven, Ghent and Utrecht , with co-working spaces in Charleroi and Antwerp. These locations are always available for brainstorming sessions or team events. As a Dataroots expert, much work can be performed remotely, but you will most likely also visit our clients on-site.
