Who you are
Please note that this is a non-paid academic internship for students looking to complete the Program requirements. The internship will commence in January or February with a minimum of 12 weeks. You love the mix of both strategic and creative thinking and turning communication trends into practice. You feel affinity with creating engaging communication and working with media relations and stakeholder management. You are eager to know more about and live the IKEA culture and values. And no, you don't need to live in a fully IKEA decorated home or know the difference between a KALLAX and BILLY, but you do have an interest in Life at Home and you are eager to discover how we contribute to society. You are studying Public relations or Communications and are looking for an internship of minimum 12 weeks. In this internship you will get in touch with (local) media contacts, crisis communication, leading in change as well as developing creative PR approaches and working with strategic communication and/or business leadership + agencies management. You are native Dutch or French speaking and fluent in the other language. This means that you feel comfortable speaking the other language even if it's not perfect and you can follow meetings in both. And you have a strong knowledge of English
Your responsibilities
• Overall support of the communication team, both internal (co-workers communication) and external (PR) communication • Help organize both internal & external events: from developing assets (invite, stakeholder mapping,...) to helping out for the build-up (no IKEA internship is complete without assembling IKEA furniture) and hosting on the day itself • Write press releases, Q&A and LinkedIn posts • Gather input with relevant stakeholders & write articles for the bi-weekly co-worker newsletter • Develop briefings & follow-up of internal co-worker campaigns and external PR campaigns • Depending on your (video/graphic skills) you could also assist in asset creation • Identify social media trends & introduce us to (your) favorite Belgian lifestyle content creators • Support the internal KREATÖR program (=co-workers creating content for TikTok) • Support in everyday activities: from meetings with agencies, the team and internal stakeholders to attending press interviews and shootings

This role is located in Zaventem. Remote working from home 1 to 2 days can be an option based on the number of working days/week during the internship but will always need to be planned according to the needs, so days can differ for each week.
