What you will do as a Senior Platform Engineer at Protime

As a Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud & Reliability) , you play a key role in monitoring and improving the reliability, security, and performance of our platform environment. You act as the bridge between infrastructure, platform, and development.

Your mission: Ensure the continued, reliable, and predictable operation of our software systems. You will work closely with our Tech departments to provide data-driven frameworks, procedures, and self-service tooling that enable teams to deliver high-quality software faster and more reliably.

Your responsibilities include:

• Guaranteeing stability and availability of production and development environments.

• Proactively preventing incidents and performing root cause analyses.

• Owning monitoring, alerting, and observability tools. Guiding software teams on environments and platform usage.

• Driving operational excellence through automation and runbooks.

• Acting as an ambassador for resilience engineering and incident response.

Technical context:

• Stack: Azure, Containers, Kubernetes, SQL Server, Azure ServiceBus

• Legacy stack: WISA (Windows servers, IIS, ASP.NET runtime, SQL). Actively phasing out.

• Tools: GitLab, Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy (phasing out)

• Monitoring: Open Telemetry, Grafana

Your skills and mindset

We’re looking for a senior profile with a mix of infrastructure and software knowledge. Someone who works independently, takes ownership, and thrives in a dynamic environment.

Hard skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, and container technologies.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with observability tools and practices (logs, metrics, tracing).

• Infrastructure as Code (OpenTofu, Ansible, ARM templates).

• .NET Core is a plus.

• AI-driven systems are a strong asset.

Soft skills:

• Self-driven and proactive.

• Ownership and initiative.

• Strong communication skills.

• Collaborative and comfortable in a multidisciplinary team.

• Growth mindset and continuous improvement attitude.

Languages: Good command of English (due to our international context). Dutch is preferred but not mandatory.
