Three ways to boost your Instagram account

Since launching in 2010, Instagram has become a household name. The photo sharing app’s versatility and capacity to reach a vast audience has attracted legions of influencers and businesses who regard it as a central channel for communication.

Instagram reached more than 1 billion active accounts per month and more than 500 daily users. Of these users, 80% followed one or more business accounts – showing that they were interested not only in their friends’ communities, but also in what brands have to say. So what are you waiting for? Share content on a regular basis

Frequency is key on Instagram! Regularly sharing content with your followers will allow them to develop a stronger engagement to your content, and to anticipate what you’ll publish next.

Take a look at your analytics and note what time of the day your audience is most engaged. Be sure to share content during the hours prior to this peak.

Scheduling tools can help you spread your content out throughout the week – you have no excuse to post the eye-catching visuals that you have prepared.

Don’t forget to post Instagram stories – the first content your followers will see on mobile devices. If you share stories regularly, you increase the chance users visiting your profile..

Interact with your audience

Social media should be a two-way street. Share some love with the people commenting on your posts. This will make your audience feel appreciated for engaging with your content.

A large part of the app’s versatility comes from it stories feature. Currently, many options are available to let your audience express themselves: ask your followers A/B questions with the polling sticker, gather questions about your organisation and its activities with a Q&A sticker, or ask them what type of content they want to see on your account.

Another  feature available on Instagram stories is the ‘Chat’ option. Why not create a chat group on a specific topic? There you can easily share updates, such as blog posts or news.

Tell a story

Quality visual content will help promote your brand on Instagram but the real challenge is to maintain a narrative that keeps your followers coming back for more.

Once you understand what your users want and how or when they want to see it, tailor your content to a weekly rhythm.

Hot tip: if you have any video stories that you consider too long for your Instagram stories or your feed – more than a minute – why not try Reels? You can share vertical videos and then create a preview on an Instagram post.
