Director, European Policy & Government Affairs

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Director of European Policy & Government Affairs based in Brussels to develop and execute government affairs strategies across EU institutions and member states. The role involves stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, and internal advisory on healthcare, trade, and intellectual property issues.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and implementation of government affairs strategies at EU level
- Engage with policymakers, MEPs, Commission officials, and stakeholder organizations
- Shape European policy using expertise in EU decision-making processes
- Provide expert advice to cross-functional teams on European policy priorities
- Manage relationships with public affairs agencies and trade association partners
Requirements
- 8+ years European public policy and government affairs experience
- Demonstrated success shaping policy through public affairs campaigns
- Expert knowledge of EU political institutions and decision-making processes
- Established personal network within EU institutions and national governments
- Advanced degree in law, science, business, economics, or political sciences
- Fluency in English plus proficiency in Spanish or Italian
- Strong communication and influence skills across diverse audiences
